Naturism in New Zealand: laws and customs →
Nudity required

A historic Wellington naturist club, on well-kept grounds surrounded by bush at Te Marua (Upper Hutt), with a heated outdoor pool (October to April), an outdoor spa pool and an indoor spa heated all year round, and a sauna. Family-friendly, with a children's playground, a large lawn, a vegetable and herb garden, and a small stream with eels and fireflies. It offers five cabins for rent and sites for tents, caravans and motorhomes; accompanied children under 18 stay free. It is a members' club affiliated with the New Zealand federation, but it also welcomes visitors by booking and holds open days. The rules ask people to be nude when the weather allows, and always in the pool, spa, sauna and showers; newcomers are allowed a few visits to get used to it. Dogs and other animals are not allowed (except service dogs). Besides relaxation, it offers various sports and socialising among members, with an annual festival. Guests agree in praising the cleanliness, the welcome and the relaxing atmosphere.
