Villas Blancas

Resort exclusively for gay men, with thirty small villas set among the tropical gardens of the Campo de Golf, halfway between the Yumbo centre and the Maspalomas dunes. It describes itself as naturist and clothing optional: everyone chooses whether to stay dressed or not. There are two large pools, one heated all year round, a fourteen-person hot tub, a sauna, a bar and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and early dinner, and a daily happy hour. Accommodation ranges from studios to villas with one bedroom or with two or three, all with a terrace; it is designed for people coming alone, as a couple or with friends. Many guests return every year and particularly appreciate the staff, the food and a friendly atmosphere in which it is easy to get to know people, though there is room for those who just want sun and calm. Not everyone finds the accommodation up to date: some guests mention dated furnishings, air conditioning in the living room only, which is not enough in great heat, and a breakfast that has become repetitive. The Yumbo is about twenty minutes away on foot, uphill, or a few minutes by taxi, and at certain times there is a free shuttle. Entry is reserved for those staying here: no day visits.
