A private naturist club (formerly Nelson Sun Club) on a hillside property among pine forests and countryside at Upper Moutere, near Nelson, New Zealand. Run entirely by volunteer members, it is not a commercial campground: it has a solar-heated swimming pool, a spa, a 9-hole pitch & putt golf course, large lawns for sunbathing and a communal barbecue area with an evening happy hour. The old clubhouse (a 100-year-old house) offers rooms for overnight stays in addition to sites for tents, caravans and campervans. A visit always requires contacting the club in advance (no surprise arrivals), but both singles and couples are explicitly welcome as day visitors. Since 2026 dogs are also allowed, up to two per site and away from the communal areas. Opinions are uniformly enthusiastic: a warm welcome, a well-kept property, a quiet, family atmosphere, never sexual in tone (the club states that it is not a "clothing optional" club, requires full nudity in the pool and spa and does not tolerate overtly sexual behaviour).
