Naturism in the United Kingdom: laws and customs →
Nudity required

Naturist site owned by British Naturism and run by volunteers: five acres of woodland near St Albans (Hertfordshire), a short walk from How Wood station; it began in 1931 as the Sun-Folk Society. Heated indoor pool, sauna, outdoor hot tub, pétanque, billiards and table tennis in the communal pavilion, a shared kitchen, barbecues and campfires on selected evenings. You can come for the day, camp with a tent, motorhome or caravan, or sleep in furnished glamping pods with a proper bed; British Naturism members pay less, but membership is not required. Visitors are expected to be naked, with a little time to settle in on arrival; in the pool, hot tub and sauna you are always naked. It welcomes both experienced naturists and newcomers, and states that single men are as welcome as anyone else; there is also a Pride Weekend in the calendar. Dogs are allowed on a lead only in the car park and on the motorhome and caravan pitches. Season from early April; in winter the site is only available for exclusive hire by groups led by a BN member. It is highly regarded by those who go there.
