Sun Ridge Resort is a 42-acre naturist club in Sterling, Connecticut, which presents itself as New England's leading nudist resort; it is run by David and Cova Bishop, David having taken over the property at the end of a career in tech. The heart of the resort is the heated pool with a large hot tub, alongside tennis and volleyball courts, a pavilion with a pool table and TV, and trails through the woods and meadows. At weekends the pavilion, the yard and the communal fire become the centre of social life, with music and dancing in the evening. It is AANR-affiliated and also honours discounts for TNS members. Overnight stays (tent and RV sites and five cabins with kitchen and bathroom) require booking by phone and are for couples only; you can also come for the day with a day pass. Under-18s are not admitted. The resort declares zero tolerance for inappropriate behaviour and pays particular attention to making women feel comfortable. Bring your own food and drink (BYOB): the on-site shop has little more than ice. It is open from May to September.
