Family naturist resort and campground in north-eastern Connecticut, operating since 1934 on more than 360 acres of woodland in Woodstock, and a landmark for New England naturists. The centre of summer life is the solar-heated pool with its large deck, alongside a hot tub, a sauna and the Bare Grille, the eatery open at weekends. There is also a pond with a sandy beach for swimming, fishing and boating, pickleball, tennis, volleyball and shuffleboard courts, a gym, a library, a children's play area and a network of marked trails across the property; the calendar is full of dinners, dances, live music and children's activities. Accommodation is in rental cabins, on twenty RV and trailer sites up to twelve metres with water and power, and on fifteen tent platforms, spread between the waterfall, Pioneer Valley and the Fox Hollow woods. It is not a clothing-optional place: nudity is required when the weather allows, mandatory in the pool, at the beach, in the pond, in the sauna and in the showers, and even the welcome tour is done without clothes. Visitors are admitted from late April to October, and on a first visit ID and a criminal background check are required. Singles are admitted but pay a higher day fee than a couple; there are reduced rates for couples under 40 and under 30. Recently the vast majority of guests speak of it enthusiastically, praising the community and the food; there are, however, a few reports of a cold or unpleasant reception towards guests who are young, single or seen as outsiders to the group.
