Naturism in the United States: laws and customs →
Nudity required

The oldest naturist club west of the Mississippi, founded in 1933 in the Oregon mountains near Estacada, an hour from Portland. Originally an old logging camp, it has kept a rustic feel: dense conifer forest, a small lake with wooden docks for swimming and sunbathing, and an altitude that makes summers mild and winters cool, sometimes with snow. It is open all year round. There are two hot tubs, a wood-fired sauna, a gym, bocce, mini golf, horseshoes, a sunbathing lawn, a games room with billiards, ping pong and karaoke, and a stage where a four-day music festival is held in August; for the rest of the year members organise shared dinners, parties and themed evenings. You can sleep in the Lodge rooms, in two small rental studios, on tent and RV sites or in a seasonal teepee. It is not a clothing optional club: the rules ask you to be nude whenever weather and comfort permit, and it is mandatory in the hot tubs, the sauna and the lake; photography is strictly limited. Men coming alone are admitted, and the place is listed as LGBTQ+ friendly. Visitors speak of a small, quiet and very welcoming place; the sign at the entrance still bears the old name, Squaw Mountain Ranch.
