Naturism in the United States: laws and customs →
Nudity required

A naturist RV resort in the Rio Grande Valley, north of Edinburg, opened in 1987 and affiliated with AANR. It is above all a community of winter residents: from November to March it fills up with "Winter Texans", largely Canadians and North Americans who come back every year for the whole season, and during those months there is an activity every day — water aerobics, water volleyball, pickleball, cornhole tournaments, dances, karaoke, outdoor movie nights. The sites are full hookup with 30 and 50 amp power, and for those not travelling by RV there are suites to rent. The common area is the highlight: a large pool for swimming, a second pool dedicated to volleyball, a large hot tub, pickleball and tennis courts and lawns among the palm trees, all carefully maintained. Recent visitors are almost always enthusiastic and stress the staff's welcome and the sense of community; the crowd, however, is mostly mature — anyone looking for a young or lively place will probably find it quiet. Worth bearing in mind: in the low season the office is open only a few hours a week and day passes are limited, so it is always best to get in touch first. The resort presents itself as nudist and family-oriented, not clothing optional: swimsuits are not allowed in the pool or hot tub, and children under 16 must be supervised by an adult. Dogs are allowed.
