Purple Peacock RV Resort

A private adults-only (21+), clothing-optional resort on 40 fenced acres near Palestine, Texas, among hills and woods: nudity is allowed everywhere except in the office, at the entrance and in indoor areas where food is served. It has an openly lifestyle orientation: an indoor evening club (Club Birdcage, with a sound system and dance nights), a "Lifestyle Partners" page with links to swinger websites, and themed weekends on the calendar; the rules do, however, prohibit sex in common areas. A pool with a hot tub, a raised shaded area with loungers ("The Perch"), pavilions and a communal fire pit. Accommodation: tent sites with electricity and water, RV sites with 30/50A hookups, cabins, rental RVs and a two-bedroom guest house. Entry is as a member: those without an annual membership pay a daily fee already included in the rate. The resort is aimed mainly at couples; single men are admitted only if recommended by a member, in limited numbers and with a request sent 7 days in advance. It declares itself inclusive of every ethnicity and sexual orientation. Pets allowed on a leash. Open year-round: in summer and on holidays there is a party atmosphere, while in winter and on weekdays it is quieter. Guests consider it excellent and describe the manager, "Butch", as very helpful.
