Clothing optional

A large clothing-optional club in the wooded hills of north Georgia, in Dawsonville, about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Founded in 1978 as a nudist campground (Hidden Valley), it is now a private membership club with over a thousand members, also open to those who arrive with a day pass or a short-term membership. Across more than a hundred acres of woodland there are three pools (the main one heated and lit in the evening), hot tubs, volleyball courts and trails; accommodation is in RV sites, platform tents, condos and apartments, or in partner motels outside the club. It is above all a social place: meals included in the membership, bars everywhere, DJs and live music, a venue open on Friday and Saturday nights, and themed parties almost every weekend. Nudity is allowed but not compulsory. Guests compare it to a cruise or a summer camp for adults; criticism mainly concerns the cost of memberships and the reception given to those who arrive without knowing that membership is required.
