Naturism in the United States: laws and customs →
Clothing optional

The oldest naturist club in Minnesota, founded in 1942, on some forty acres of woodland near Stacy, less than an hour from Minneapolis. It is a members' cooperative with no paid staff: the members take turns running the campground, and you can feel it in an atmosphere that is more community than accommodation business. There are about seventy-five sites, including tent sites, RV lots with full hook-ups and two rental trailers, a heated pool, two saunas (one electric and one wood-fired), two gender-neutral shared bathrooms, a clubhouse with kitchen, games room and porches, courts for pickleball, pétanque, sand volleyball, shuffleboard and horseshoes, plus a trail that loops around the grounds. Full nudity is required in the pool and sauna; elsewhere you undress at your own pace. The season revolves around events organised by the members: tournaments, potluck dinners, karaoke, bonfires and, in July, Oakwood Days. Every visitor goes through a criminal background check, and the first visit must be arranged a few days in advance: this is not a place where you just turn up.
