Oaklake Trails Naturist Resort

The largest naturist park in the United States by area: more than four hundred acres of hills covered in oak and hickory in Oklahoma, halfway between Tulsa and Oklahoma City and a stone's throw from old Route 66. The name says it all: lakes and trails, about thirteen kilometres of marked paths through woods, clearings and flowering meadows, with benches overlooking the water and the chance of meeting deer, wild turkeys or a roadrunner. You can fish in the ponds but not swim: for that there are two heated pools and a large hot tub, plus a Finnish sauna. Accommodation is in fourteen cabins, from the most basic to those with a kitchenette, in more than forty RV sites with hook-ups and in twelve shaded tent sites near the pools. It is open all year round, except at Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is a bistro, with reduced hours in winter, and a calendar of events ranging from bingo to a five-kilometre run; on summer weekends the park fills up with hundreds of members, so those looking for calm are better off coming midweek. Naturism is optional, compulsory only in the pool, the hot tub and the sauna, and the atmosphere is openly family-oriented. The club explicitly welcomes those who come alone, of any gender, and states that it welcomes everyone regardless of gender and sexual orientation; on a first visit ID and a background check are required. Recent opinions are very good; some visitors report that the trails are not always well marked and that the community of permanent residents can feel closed.
