Naturist Oasis Camp

The oldest and largest naturist facility in Hungary, on one of the quarry lakes of Delegyhaza less than thirty kilometres from Budapest, run directly by the Hungarian naturist association MNE. The heart of it is the lake, with shallow, clear water along the gravelly shore and a large tree-lined lawn for sunbathing; the bathing park is open from 8 am to 8 pm and those not staying overnight enter with a day ticket. The rules are set out precisely in a code of conduct: nudity is compulsory for swimming, sunbathing, in the sauna and during sports activities, there is zero tolerance for swimsuits in the common areas and only a small exception for people trying naturism for the first time; photography is prohibited without the consent of everyone present, there is zero tolerance for erotic behaviour, and an explicit warning that the place is not a meeting spot. Dogs are allowed on a lead and have a pond of their own, but may not enter the bathing areas. You can stay in ten wooden cabins near the shore, in two lakeside apartments with terrace and kitchenette, in an old restored yurt, or on a pitch: zone B, serviced, for caravans and motorhomes, and zone C, without booking, for tents. The season runs from May to September and the association's calendar is full of events. Recent visitors almost always speak of it with enthusiasm, appreciating in particular the cleanliness, shade and peace; the criticisms, older but recurrent, concern the very rough gravel access road, some dated facilities and prices considered high for the level of service.
