A historic Colorado naturist club, founded in 1935 and run as a non-profit by its more than five hundred members, on 150 acres of conifers and rock in the Foothills about thirty kilometres from Denver. It presents itself as the only family naturist resort in the state, and the children's side really is well looked after: a playground, a games room with foosball and air hockey, family events every month, alongside adults-only evenings such as trivia, pool (billiards) and dance parties. Facilities include a heated outdoor pool with sun deck, a hot tub and a sauna open all year round, a clubhouse, paddle tennis, bocce and horseshoe courts, and above all more than sixteen kilometres of private trails through the woods, the thing visitors mention most often. Nudity is compulsory only in the pool, sauna and hot tub: elsewhere you can be dressed, for meals or in the evening. You can sleep in a small cabin, in two rooms and an apartment in the lodge, in a tent or on the RV meadow with hook-ups. First-time visitors must take an orientation tour, and Colorado residents must apply for club membership after three visits. There are two recurring criticisms: the lodge facilities are dated and in need of serious work, and the average age of those present is high on weekdays, with families concentrated at weekends.
