Michigan's oldest clothing-optional campground, run as a cooperative of volunteer members on acres of woodland in Saranac, between Grand Rapids and Lansing. All areas are clothing optional, with nudity required only in the pool (heated, saltwater) and in the hot tub under the gazebo; the atmosphere is explicitly family-oriented, with guests and members screened at the entrance, strict rules against provocative behaviour and a very strict photo policy. Accommodation is in tent sites, RV sites with electricity or small wooden cabins; there are woodland trails, a clubhouse with games and a summer calendar of events and bands. Opinions are entirely positive: a quiet, clean place that is welcoming to newcomers too. Open from early May to mid-October; visits are booked by phone, with the same day rate for families, couples and those coming alone. Dogs are allowed on the sites and on a leash on the internal roads.
