The Diogenes Sun Club is a naturist club founded in 1932 which since 1964 has been based in a large country house with six acres of gardens on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, near Chalfont St Peter and a few minutes from the M25, so it is also convenient from London. It is a members' club where the members own and look after everything: wide lawns and secluded corners, a walled garden, a dell left wilder, and above all two heated pools, one outdoor and one indoor used all year round, plus a large sauna with a cold plunge pool. There is miniten, tennis and boules, yoga and aqua aerobics, and the house offers a shared kitchen, lounge, games room and conservatory. Camping is possible in a tent, caravan or motorhome, but only by booking and with a naturist or club card; no pets. The club is affiliated with British Naturism. It accepts membership applications from families, couples and singles, but states that it manages membership numbers to keep a reasonable balance between men and women; those camping alone pay the single-adult rate. The club is appreciated for the members' welcome, the cleanliness and the sense of community; it is an explicitly family-friendly environment where sexual behaviour is not allowed.
