Apartments in the Castillo de Papagayo, the small complex reserved for naturists on calle Seifio in Charco del Palo, the naturist village on the north-east coast of Lanzarote. They are managed by Conylanza, a Costa Teguise company that runs holiday homes and residences on the island; other owners also rent out in the same complex. The apartments have two bedrooms, a kitchen and a terrace and have largely been renovated: those on the ground floor look onto the garden and pool, those on the first floor face the ocean. The white buildings surround a freshwater pool with a lawn, sun loungers and a giant chessboard, and the rules ban clothing and swimwear in all common areas. Guests talk almost exclusively about the peace and quiet, and many have been coming back for years; there are also quiet hours in the early afternoon and at night. The most frequent criticisms concern the apartments not yet refurbished, cleaning during the stay less frequent than expected, and some charges for extra cleaning disputed after departure. There is no sandy beach: in the village people swim in the natural pools among the lava, and the nearest sand is at Arrieta. Pets not allowed.
