Naturism in Croatia: laws and customs →
Naturist (policy unspecified)

The only naturist campsite in the Umag area, in Istria, stretching along a long section of coast about ten kilometres from the town, with views over the Gulf of Savudrija and Portorož. It has 199 pitches, a four-star rating and is run by the Plava Laguna group: modern pitches for tents, caravans or motorhomes (no rental accommodation on the price list), two sanitary blocks also equipped for children and for people with disabilities, a supermarket, an ATM, à la carte restaurants, massages and mooring for small boats. The white pebble beach is a minute from the pitches and the pines provide shade over much of the grounds. Sports are all in the surrounding area: beach volleyball, multi-purpose courts, a cycle route and a fitness area are included, while mini golf, tennis, table tennis and water sports cost extra. In high summer, from early June to late August, there is an entertainment programme with a mini club for children aged 4 to 12, sports tournaments, evening entertainment and live music. Pets are allowed everywhere except reception, the restaurant, the pool and part of the beach. Most recent guests appreciate the sea, cleanliness and food, but two recurring reports deserve attention: night-time noise from the Portorož nightclubs carrying across the gulf at weekends, and the fact that the guests are largely long-stay campers of middle to older age, so much so that more than one guest with children found it not very suitable for families, contrary to the official presentation. The older complaints about old, neglected bungalows refer to the accommodation in the neighbouring tourist settlement, not to the campsite pitches.
