Birdcage Resort

Small resort exclusively for gay men, with about ten rooms and suites around a tropical garden in the centre of Playa del Inglés, a stone's throw from the Yumbo Centre and about 300 metres from the beach. There is no dress code: you can be naked or dressed, and life revolves around the heated pool, not a large one, and the hot tub, with sunbeds, hammocks and a sandy area. The rooms have a terrace or private garden and each is furnished in its own way; a villa with two bedrooms and a kitchen, however, is located outside the complex, in the one next door, which is not only for gay guests. The breakfast buffet is served until noon, the lounge with bar is the meeting point, and there are a fitness corner and a range of massages, including a sensual one. Pets are accepted. Solo travellers feel at home because in such a small place it is quick to make friends. Guests particularly appreciate the staff, and many come back every year; complaints, few and not recent, concern the cramped rooms in some categories and the reception being closed in the evening, which for a late arrival may require the airport transfer.
