Avatan Nudist Club

Historic Minnesota naturist club (over 60 years in operation), on 40 acres of woodland about 30 minutes north of Minneapolis-St Paul. Season from May to September. Pool, children's pool, hot tub, sauna, sand volleyball courts, horseshoes, pétanque, pickleball, a radio-controlled car track, woodland trails and a children's playground. Clubhouse with an equipped kitchen, common room and TV. Accommodation in rental cabins, RV sites and tents; you can also come for the day. A rich social programme: community dinners, karaoke, dances, bingo, water volleyball. Nudity is required in the pool and optional elsewhere. A family-oriented AANR club: everyone, members and visitors alike, must pass a criminal background check before entering, and single men must phone the office to find out the current policy for singles. Photography and filming are prohibited. Most visitors appreciate the sports facilities and the social life, but recently there have been serious and consistent criticisms of management perceived as authoritarian, of arbitrary expulsions of members and of declining maintenance.
