New Zealand's oldest sun club, founded in 1936 as "Murray Glade", set in a few hectares of native bush in the Waitakere Ranges, 30 minutes from Auckland, with a path through the trees down to a small stream. Affiliated to NZNF. No one is obliged to undress, but in the pool, spa and sauna everyone is naked. Heated clubhouse with fireplace, full kitchen, billiards, table tennis and darts; a large pool with a children's pool, an outdoor spa, and a sauna on Sunday evenings that is also open to members of other clubs. Mini-tennis court and pétanque, a children's play area with a "zoom swing", and a wood-fired barbecue. Powered sites for caravans/motorhomes and sites for tents; one cabin (without its own water/electricity, shared facilities in the clubhouse) for stays of up to 3 people. During the week the club is reserved for members unless arranged in advance; on Sundays from 12 noon to 5 pm anyone can visit, welcomed by a member, and the club states that it makes no distinction based on gender or family situation. There is no resident caretaker: the federation recommends phoning before you go. The official website has not been updated since 2020; the club is still on the New Zealand federation's list.
