VNF Camping (Vikbolandet)

A naturist and family campsite in the wooded countryside of Vikbolandet, about 36 km from Norrköping on the road to Arkösund. It is owned by the local naturist association (VNF), which has built it up since the early 1990s and keeps it running with its seasonal members, who also take turns at reception and cleaning. The heart of the campsite is the large pool with a spacious wooden sun deck, where swimming and lounging are done without swimwear; the association promotes shared nudity when the weather allows, but elsewhere it is not imposed, and boys and girls at a sensitive age may keep their swimwear on. As well as pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents, there is a cabin next to the pool, a small unit for two called "Gaveln" and a few rooms, plus a shared kitchen, a common room with table tennis and games, a wood-fired sauna lit several evenings a week and a communal grill lit every evening in high season. In the woods there is a "naked trail" of about one kilometre; in season you can pick blueberries and mushrooms, and a small lake can be reached on foot. Summer has its own calendar: naturism day, Midsummer, a gala evening, a pool party and a crayfish dinner. The family-style welcome is its strong point; some passing guests, however, found the community of seasonal members not very open towards those staying only a few days, and the place a little isolated. Dogs must be kept on a lead and are not allowed in the pool, at the grill or in the common rooms.
