Villa Mandragore

Guesthouse of five rooms on the Île du Levant, in a large stone house from the 1970s renovated and reopened in 2023, right on the sea: from the garden you walk down to the Bains de Diane. What sets it apart is stated by the managers themselves: it is a naturist and openly libertine place, reserved for adults, with a clientele made up mainly of heterosexual couples, which also welcomes tantra and shibari enthusiasts and hosts tantra workshops for couples. It is therefore not the choice for a traditional naturist stay or for those travelling with children; pets are not accepted either, and the house is non-smoking. The rooms have a king-size bed, air conditioning, a shower and separate WC, and a balcony or terrace over the sea; shared spaces include the large covered terrace, the lounge with bar, the sheltered pool in the patio and the sun loungers in the garden. Breakfast is ordered the evening before, and in July and August, one or two evenings a week, there is a shared table with home cooking. Those who have stayed talk above all about the view, the care taken over the rooms and the welcome, and describe a mood somewhere between calm and party in which nothing is imposed; some who came as a gay couple also say they felt at ease. The village is uphill, about ten minutes' walk away.
