Naturism in Italy: laws and customs →
Nudity required

A naturist village (Camping FKK) looking directly onto the Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area, in Calabria, between a private red-sand beach and a pine forest with eucalyptus and Mediterranean scrub. It is one of the busiest naturist sites in Italy, with many foreign guests. Nudity is compulsory in the campsite, among the caravans and bungalows and on the beach (teenagers may keep their swimwear on), while the services area with the entrance, bar, shop and restaurant is textile; at the entrance you need a current-year INF-FNI naturist card, and those without one can get a FENAIT holiday card on site. There is plenty of accommodation: pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, including seafront ones, bungalows, small villas, mobile homes, rental caravans and the "Dacia", spartan wooden cabins without a bathroom and with a sea view. In July and August there is entertainment, a baby club (ages 3-6) and a mini club (ages 7-12); bocce, basketball, volleyball and five-a-side football pitches, trails within the site, and cycling, horse riding and diving nearby. A shop, a bar, a beach bar and a restaurant. Dogs are allowed on the campsite (on a lead and muzzled), but not in the accommodation or on the beach. Open from late April to late October. Opinions from those who have stayed are divided: many love the sea, the nature and the off-season peace, but in recent years criticism has grown about maintenance, the cleanliness of the toilets, non-drinkable water and music until late in August.
