Private naturist campground in Donnybrook, in the Moreton Bay region of South East Queensland, run since 1978 by James (originally together with his partner Jan, who passed away in 2022). The land is native bushland with lawns: seven camping areas and about 45 unpowered sites for tents, caravans and motorhomes, bordered for a couple of kilometres by Elimbah Creek, a tidal creek where you can swim, fish and go canoeing or paddleboarding when conditions allow; there are bush trails and plenty of wildlife. The facilities are basic: communal kitchen, covered gas barbecues, two amenities blocks with coin-operated showers and outdoor showers, a clubhouse with stage and dance floor; games include miniten, pétanque, chip-and-putt golf and bocce. Nudity is optional everywhere, with no separate areas. Families with children are welcome, dogs and cats are not. Entry is by invitation: before your first visit you must phone James on the landline (there is no mobile reception on site); you can also come just for the day, until 6 pm, and the maximum stay is six weeks. The management is relaunching the calendar of parties, music evenings and shared dinners. Visitors describe a laid-back place immersed in nature, with the atmosphere of a community of regulars; some find it dated and a bit neglected, and one guest in 2022 felt unwelcome by some long-term residents.
