A naturist resort on the island of Ko Kho Khao, in Phang Nga province, about ninety kilometres north of Phuket: you drive to the Baan Nam Khem pier and then take a ten-minute ferry, and the resort arranges transfers from the airport. It presents itself as the only naturist resort in Thailand directly on the sea: it lies between the casuarina forest and a long beach, which is however public and shared with a neighbouring resort, so the naturist stretch is the signposted one in front of the property. Accommodation is in very spacious suites and villas, with kitchen, living room and one or two bedrooms, breakfast included; there is a large pool, hot tub, sauna, massages, gym, games room, billiards, table tennis, library and bicycles, and the resort organises quad-bike trips and outings to an offshore sandbank. It is clothing optional; public sex is forbidden and the resort states that it is not a place for swingers. There is no membership card to take out: solo travellers and families with children are also welcome, and day visitors pay an entrance fee, giving notice the day before. Guests love the beach, the sunsets and the sense of seclusion; the most frequent criticisms concern somewhat dated and poorly maintained accommodation, music played around the pool and on the beach, high prices for the area, guests who stay clothed and the owner's brusque manner.
