Naturistengelände "die neue zeit" Sitzberg

Naturism in Switzerland: laws and customs →
Nudity required

Naturist ground of about 20 hectares in the Zurich Oberland, at 750 metres between Turbenthal and Sitzberg, hidden in a large sunny clearing enclosed by forest. It is run by volunteers of the Natürlich Sitzberg association on land owned by the «die neue zeit» foundation, whose statutes forbid meat, fish, alcohol and tobacco: there is no restaurant, just a small kiosk with coffee, soft drinks and ice cream and a shared kitchen for those who bring their own food. The heart of the place is the outdoor pool, liked by almost everyone; around it there are meadows, a tennis court, table tennis, a sauna, a playground and a fitness trail in the woods that is done nude. You camp on the meadow without numbered pitches and without booking, or sleep in a room in the old farmhouse or in a rented caravan; payment is cash only. Swimwear is not tolerated and taking photos is forbidden. Guests speak of peace and quiet, friendly people and a club atmosphere; the facilities are simple and somewhat dated, and now and then you hear planes passing overhead. All around there are footpaths and mountain bike routes, with the Winterthur–Hörnli–Wattwil trail passing next to the grounds. The road from Turbenthal is steep and not recommended for those towing a caravan.
