The Lichtbund Niederrhein (LBN) is a family naturist sports club founded in 1929, with around 900 members: the largest in North Rhine-Westphalia. The grounds, 15 hectares of club-owned woodland in the south of Duisburg (Großenbaum, on the edge of the Sechs-Seen-Platte), centre on a natural swimming lake with a sandy beach, sunbathing lawns, a free sauna park and an unusual number of sports facilities: tennis, badminton, beach volleyball, boules, archery, ping-pong, mini golf, a fitness park, plus running, yoga, dance and motorcycle groups. It is open to members all year round; outside guests can stay overnight in a caravan or motorhome (or in one of the three rental caravans) and, from April to October, in a tent, but from 2026 only if they are members of the DFK (which also accepts individual memberships) or of another naturist club, arriving between 3 and 6 pm; this also applies to solo travellers. Dogs not allowed, minors only when accompanied. Those who have stayed describe a quiet environment well kept by volunteers, with modern sanitary facilities and a warm welcome even for those arriving alone; the Vereinshaus has no bar or restaurant (bring your own food) and the nearest supermarkets are about 1.5 km away. Suited to families and to those looking for sport and club life; it is not a commercial campsite.
