Naturism in Switzerland: laws and customs →
Nudity required

A historic naturist club (founded in 1933) in Nänikon, on the outskirts of Uster and half an hour from Zurich: 25,000 square metres of lawns and fir trees behind a wall, with what the club presents as the only open-air swimming pool without swimsuits in northeastern Switzerland, a 25-metre pool with very good water quality. It is not a campsite open to the public: you can only get in as a member — with a badge, all year round and at any hour, even for a night swim in the floodlit pool — or as a holiday guest with a valid INF card, after a booking request; no day visitors. Besides the pool there is a sauna, pétanque courts, archery, volleyball, ping-pong, a clubhouse with kiosk, a playground and paddling pool for children, barbecue spots and on-site parking. Guests with a tent, caravan or motorhome will find pitches; there is also a wooden dormitory hut with spare beds for those staying without their own equipment. The rules are explicit and brief: you undress, everyone is on first-name terms, you put a towel on your chair, no photos or filming, no animals, and the club firmly distances itself from voyeurism and sexually oriented activities. Regulars describe a well-kept, quiet and trusting environment, with a fairly mature community — one member himself notes that more young people are needed.
