A 19th-century mas 4 km from Barjols, in the Provence Verte, on three hectares of stone terraces among pines, oaks and olive trees, with views over the hills. Marie-Andrée and Bruno welcome naturist couples only, no children or pets and no exceptions, and nudity is the rule throughout the property, not just at the pool: people dress only when it is cold. There are three double rooms with terrace and a 40 m² suite with kitchen and private spa. The buffet breakfast is included, with homemade bread and pastries, as are soft drinks and use of the summer kitchen; on request you can have dishes cooked by Marie-Andrée, and massages are paid for separately. Shared facilities include a heated saltwater pool, a hot tub, a marked trail on the property, archery, table tennis and two mountain bikes. Music is banned around the pool and silence is the reason people come: those who have been returning for years talk above all about the quiet, the abundance at table and the attentiveness of their hosts, although a few guests, years ago, described a cold welcome. In the surrounding area you can walk, climb and canoe down the Vallon Sourn, 5 km away; the Verdon Gorge is about 45 km away. Minimum stay of two nights; cards and cheques are not accepted. Satnav can take you into the wrong valley: it is best to ask for directions.
