Lune Saracene

Small gay and naturist country house on the hill of Montefurlano, inland from Campomarino di Maruggio, with views over the olive groves and the Gulf of Taranto. It has been run since 2004 by Umberto and Angelo, who explicitly present it as a guest house for gay and naturist guests. It has three rooms with private bathroom, air conditioning and a mini-fridge; the generous home-made breakfast is taken together with the hosts and the other guests. For a few years now there has been a long saltwater pool with a sun deck and wooden decking, as well as spaces for reading and relaxing in peace. About ten minutes' drive away are the beaches of Commenda and D'Ayala, frequented for decades by the LGBTQ+ community and by naturists: nudity there is not officially authorised but is practised by custom. Pets are accepted if booked in advance, as are solo travellers, with a rate for single use of a room. Stays are normally by the week, with a minimum of three nights. Guests describe an isolated, quiet place, well looked after and full of artworks, with hosts who are very present and welcoming. Open from April to October.
