Les Gîtes du Carpe Diem

Four gîtes in an old stone house in the Lot, on a hill above the village of Salviac, a few minutes from the Dordogne, run by Hugues and Julie, a couple from northern France who live on site and have renovated them since 2022. The units, named after the owners' grandmothers, range from a small two-room flat for four (22 square metres, with a small fenced garden) to a 72-square-metre apartment for five, all with a kitchen, pergola and barbecue. Around them are seven hectares of private meadows and woods to roam naked, a fenced heated pool, a five-seat jacuzzi under the stars, a boules pitch and table tennis; a massage with an outside masseuse can be booked. The rule changes with the season: from June to September, when the pool also opens, the gîtes are reserved for naturists only, while for the rest of the year they are also rented to non-naturists, especially for long stays. The atmosphere is one of quiet, family-oriented naturism, suitable for first-timers too; the owners say clearly that swingers and libertines are not welcome. Guests who have stayed there talk of silence, birdsong and walks in the woods, but also of aperitifs under the pergola and a shared dinner with the other guests once a week; families with children come too, and dogs are accepted for a supplement. It makes a good base for Sarlat, Rocamadour, Padirac and the castles of the Dordogne. The property is affiliated with the FFN.
