Naturism in France: laws and customs →
Nudity required

A 6-hectare naturist site run entirely by the members of the Union Gymnique de Lorraine (about 100 members, affiliated with the French Naturist Federation since 1965), at Domèvre-en-Haye in the Lorraine Regional Natural Park, some thirty kilometres from Nancy. It also welcomes passing campers from early May to mid-September, with an outdoor pool from June to August: pitches in woodland clearings with electricity, renovated facilities, a barbecue area and shared kitchen, a bar terrace and Wi-Fi across the whole site, and internal trails with views over the valley. Nudity is compulsory and, apart from the free discovery day, entry requires an FFN or international licence; dogs and cats are not allowed and there is no bread sale or catering (the village with shops and a pizzeria is a few minutes' walk away). Booking is advisable as places are few. Everything is built and maintained by the members on "work days", and club life is lively: shared lunches, parties, concerts, a St John's Eve bonfire. Recent guests, many of them Dutch and Germans on their way south, speak of a warm welcome, calm and a lovely view; the access road is steep and narrow for large caravans.
