More than a place to stay, the Bazar (the sign reads “Bazar d'Héliopolis”) is one of the meeting places of the Héliopolis naturist domaine on the Île du Levant: it stands halfway up the slope on the Corniche de l'Arbousier, between the village and the sea, and combines groceries, tobacco, pareos and hats, and a terrace overlooking Port-Cros where people gather in the warm season for an aperitif, with tapas and homemade tapenade. Eric and Bruno, who run it, also rent out three air-conditioned studios, for two people or up to four, an air-conditioned bungalow with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a safari tent in the garden, with a kitchenette on the terrace and a shared outdoor shower and WC. Each unit is self-contained and has a private terrace; below there is a large shared terrace, and Wi-Fi is included. They are rented by the night or by the week from May to September, while the shop stays open in winter too. People come here to practise naturism; children and pets are allowed. The atmosphere is convivial rather than quiet, and regulars particularly appreciate the welcome and the view at sunset. The management changed a few years ago, with renovation work: some who have slept here found dated accommodation, unreliable Wi-Fi and high prices.
