South Africa's oldest private naturist area: 207 hectares of bushveld in North West Province, owned by a shareholder company (Doornkom Ontwikkelings), around two gorges thick with wild olives, acacias and kiepersol trees. It is a place of silence and nature: trails to walk nude, a dam for birdwatching, free-roaming wildlife (bushbuck, warthogs, kudu), a pool, a solar-heated hot tub, table tennis, darts, picnic areas and braai spots. You can sleep on a powered site for tents and caravans (with a camp kitchen and outdoor showers) or in three self-catering units: the Manor House, G&G's cottage with its own private hot tub, and the Houthuys, a wooden cabin for four. The website announces new management; day visitors and guests staying at least two nights are accepted, always with a booking or a phone call in advance. Nudity is required in the communal areas (including the campsite) in good weather; you may cover up in bad weather and on two “open” weekends a year, agreed between May and August. Single people are admitted only if they are members of INF, SANNA, GNA or NWNA. No pets, and photos only with the consent of the people photographed. The club is a member of the North West Naturist Association. The peace and quiet and the welcome are praised almost unanimously.
