Naturism in Germany: laws and customs →
Naturist (policy unspecified)

A long-established naturist association (founded in 1968) in Mannheim-Rheinau, in northern Baden-Württemberg: a family naturist sports club rather than a commercial campsite, affiliated with the DFK and INF. The 1.2-hectare grounds, with centuries-old trees and green spaces, are home to more than 100 members, families and singles alike, most of them with static caravans; for guests there are just a few pitches for caravans and motorhomes, which must be requested in advance. At the centre of the grounds is the swimming pool (7x14 m) with a sunbathing lawn; around it there is a wide range of sports (gymnastics, swimming, badminton, volleyball, boules, table tennis, darts, tennis) with club competitions every year, a sauna open on Tuesdays and Saturdays, a playground with a large sandpit, a hut for the kids and a brick barbecue for communal grills. The season on the grounds runs from early April to late September. Naturists passing through are welcome as day members, by prior booking (there is no reception); pets are allowed. Regulars describe it as a small, welcoming green oasis, but the grounds lie in an industrial area between a railway line and a motorway, and some guests find it noisy.
