Fern Fields Naturist Retreat

Naturism in France: laws and customs →
Clothing optional

A small family-run naturist place in the Lower Normandy countryside, near Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie, created by Mark and Caroline, an English couple who came to France in 2020. It is clothing optional: everyone dresses or undresses as they feel, which also makes it suitable for people trying naturism for the first time. The grounds have woods, ferns, granite boulders and meadows; the grass or hardstanding pitches, the bell tents, the rental caravan and the campsite are open from April to September, while the two-bedroom stone gîte is open all year. The shared facilities are simple: a greenhouse with a relaxation area, a solar-heated pool and a hot tub (adults only after 8 pm), table tennis, and covered showers and sinks. Dogs are allowed on the campsite but not in the gîte; day visits are also possible. Guests with conspicuous intimate piercings are asked to remove or cover them in the common areas. The nearby village has few services and the connection is what you would expect in a rural area. Many use it as a stopover on the way to the Saint-Malo ferries. It is a much-loved place: calm, nature and the hosts' welcome are the recurring themes.
