Euronat is the largest naturist centre in Europe: 335 hectares of pine forest on the Atlantic coast of the Médoc, in the Gironde, with three direct accesses to a 1.5 km ocean beach reserved for naturists. More a village than a campsite, it has a 2.5 km central avenue, around 1,400 large pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, and a very wide range of rentals: furnished tents, cabanes and chalets, mobile homes, studios, one-bedroom flats and villas, many privately owned (so comfort varies from unit to unit, as some guests point out). At its heart is a square with more than twenty shops and restaurants, a heated pool complex with lagoon, slides and a 25 m indoor pool, sports pitches, a naturist thalassotherapy centre also open to non-residents, and four free kids' clubs in July and August. A 4-star campsite, open from 1 April to 31 October. The rules require nudity in the pool, on the beach, in the toilet and shower blocks and in the seawater area of the thalasso; single people are admitted only with a naturist licence. It is an avowedly family-oriented, intergenerational destination, with entertainment, concerts and evening markets in summer, and a good base for cycling (Vélodyssée), surfing and excursions in the Médoc. Recent visitors mostly speak well of it (space, cleanliness, beach, restaurants), but two criticisms keep coming back: rising prices against facilities that are partly dated, and above all the fact that in the common areas many guests stay dressed, so much so that committed naturists feel in the minority away from the pool and beach.

Nudity required

Nudity is compulsory at the pool, on the beach, in the toilet and shower blocks and in the seawater area of the thalasso. You therefore undertake to practise nudity and to ensure that those who depend on you (family, guests, etc.) do so too. Swimsuits, bikinis and thongs are forbidden. Common sense nevertheless prevails. There is some tolerance for certain sporting activities, for women at certain times and for teenagers.
