Elephant Rock is a self-catering naturist retreat on 17 hectares of Australian bush at the foot of Mt Greville, in Queensland's Scenic Rim, with views over Lake Moogerah. It offers six en-suite rooms in a shared guesthouse (communal kitchen, lounge, fireplace) plus unpowered sites for caravans and motorhomes. The heart of life on the property is the deck with a 10-metre pool and a heated spa; there is also pétanque, croquet, badminton and walking trails through the bush, home to parrots, kangaroos, wallabies and the occasional dingo. The area is a base for hikes and exploring the Scenic Rim, including the climb up Mt Greville. The atmosphere is quiet and convivial: the hosts, John and Kaylene, organise shared dinners and themed weekends (ANZAC Day, a French party with a pétanque competition in July, New Year). Only guests aged 16 and over are accepted, because of the hazards of the terrain (unfenced dams, bush where you can get lost). No animals except registered guide dogs. Booking is required, including for day visits.
