A members' naturist club in Auenstein, in the canton of Aargau, active since 1951 and run by around 270 members as a small self-sufficient village on the southern slope of the Aargau Jura, away from traffic, with views over the Swiss Plateau and the Alps. It has its own spring water supply, modern sanitary facilities, several cooking and barbecue areas, a solar-heated swimming pool, pétanque, beach volleyball, badminton, archery and a children's playground. It is open from May to September. For guests there are pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, three simple double rooms and a 32-bed dormitory under the roof of the clubhouse, also suitable for solo travellers. To get in you need a valid naturist card; arrival is by booking by phone or email, and pets must be left at home. The club is multigenerational, with a calendar of events and shared work days. Those who stay there speak of a quiet little paradise and a warm welcome.
