Nudity required

Family-run naturist campsite covering 70 hectares in Octon (Hérault), on a slope overlooking Lake Salagou amid the red-earth hills of Occitania. Founded in 1981 by Pierre and Nina, it is now run by their daughter Nathalie and her husband. It has 58 shaded pitches, mobile homes and small "unusual" accommodation units; a swimming pool, a snack bar serving dinner almost every evening, weekly communal lunches, themed evenings and boules tournaments, and naturist trails within the property with views of the lake. The rules require full nudity when the temperature allows, especially at the pool. Dogs are allowed on pitches but not in rental accommodation; there is a single-person rate and visits without staying are not permitted. Nearby are Lake Salagou and the Cirque de Mourèze. The terrain is sloping and uneven, as the website itself warns. Recent guests appreciate the welcome, the cleanliness of the facilities and the view; criticism mainly concerns the manner of the reception staff and a somewhat neglected feel to the grounds. The campsite has a 2-star rating.
