Camping Mayenne Nature

A small club-run naturist campsite on the outskirts of Laval, in Mayenne: three hectares of meadow and woodland with a clearing open to naturists since the 1960s, a small fishing lake and a path where you can walk naked in the shade of the trees. It is run by club volunteers, and that shows in the feel of the place: small and friendly, with the pool and the solarium as the meeting point, table football and table tennis in the common room, pétanque tournaments, group barbecues and the occasional evening with simple food. The pitches are spacious and shaded; bikes can be borrowed free of charge and the village amenities are two kilometres away. The volunteers' welcome and the cleanliness are unanimously praised, with two recurring reservations: the price, which some consider high for the level of facilities, and the noise from the A81 motorway, which runs nearby and can be heard on quiet days. Non-members can stay from May to September.
