Naturism in France: laws and customs →
Naturist (policy unspecified)

A small two-star naturist campsite in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, the Green Venice, half an hour from La Rochelle: a hectare and a half of wooded parkland with 55 partly shaded pitches, which changed hands in 2023 and is now run by Dorothee and Loic with their family. The highlight is the swimming pool heated to between 25 and 28 degrees, covered by an anti-UV canopy that makes it usable even on grey days and whose sides can be opened in good weather. The rest is simple and well looked after: renovated toilet facilities with a cubicle for people with reduced mobility, an accessible mobile home, a snack bar with music and cocktail evenings, bread delivery in July and August, communal wood-fired barbecues, a playground with trampoline and slide, free wifi, waste sorting and composting. You can stay in a tent, caravan or motorhome, or in a two- or three-bedroom mobile home. Dogs are allowed on a lead, except for breeds considered dangerous in France. The most recent guests are enthusiastic and always mention the owners: a warm welcome, a family atmosphere, cleanliness, regular French guests who return every year and several people who tried naturism here for the first time. The criticisms, almost all from before the change of management, concerned small pitches and neglected maintenance; the remark still holds that the village is small and isolated, with little more than a bakery within a radius of a few kilometres.
