A small naturist retreat opened in 2025 in Irene, a leafy suburb of Centurion halfway between Pretoria and Johannesburg. It is neither a campsite nor a hotel: you rent a single self-contained cottage, with a large bedroom with private bathroom and an equipped kitchen, overlooking a garden with a pool and an old oak tree that provides shade (and gives the place its name). Nudity is optional: clothes are only needed when it is cool or for protection from the sun. The owners, Harry and Yvet, are long-standing naturists who previously ran two other naturist-friendly guesthouses. The outdoor space is large enough for small events: the Gauteng Naturist Association and a group of naturist motorcyclists regularly hold get-togethers there, and a naturist tour operator has chosen it for group tastings and braais. Suitable for those looking for a quiet, private base in the area, not for those wanting resort facilities. No guest opinions can be found yet.
